Kevin is an active hiker and had been making his own jerky for his trips through the wilderness. His friends loved it so much, they offered to pay him for some. That got him interested in starting his own jerky business.
Chudabeef currently comes in four flavors. We only have this Garliyaki for review. The company describes it as having, "...a perfect balance of sweet and savory teriyaki sauce with a hint of garlic kick to make your mouth water for another piece!"

Beef, tamari soy sauce, brown sugar, sweetened rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger, natural flavor.
Review
The first thing I taste on the palate is a garlic flavor with a moderate sweet and salty. The chewing brings on more garlic definition, along with a light teriyaki sauce.
For being marketed as blend of teriyaki sauce, sweet, and garlic, it stands up well. I get a fair amount of sweet, with a lightly recognizable teriyaki, but lots of garlic. The words "hint of garlic" as used by the company, is really more like, "lots of garlic", and is something that garlic lovers would enjoy.
Otherwise, the primary taste profile of this jerky is a sweet, teriyaki sauce with lots of garlic flavor. The teriyaki remains unremarkable, and resembles something more ordinary and garden variety. It's the stronger garlic that creates all the fun and excitement in this jerky.
The meat consistency appears to be all meat, with no visible signs of fat, though I experienced some stringiness. It's quite soft to chew, more so than you might expect. It has a very meaty chewing texture, and almost steak-like. The meat appears to have been tenderized through some kind of process of pounding or grinding.
Verdict
This Garliyaki from Chudabeef Jerky Strips creates a lot of savory flavor from a strong dose of garlic and a sweet, teriyaki sauce. I found the overall flavor exciting due to the garlic's dominance, but the teriyaki sauce seemed much like typical, average teriyaki. It seems that it could use something spicy, like Jalapeno, for both flavor and heat, to help this out. Otherwise, the soft, meaty chewing and the savory flavors of garlic and teriyaki makes for a very snackable jerky.
