Redneck Seasonings - Danse Macabre Beef Jerky

redneck seasonings beef jerky
Next in the series on Redneck Seasonings is Danse Macabre Beef Jerky. See our review of their Filet of Ghost.

Redneck Seasonings is a brand run by Ray Templeton out of Moscow, ID. Over the past couple of years the business has been selling seasonings, jerky, and bratwurst. Among their specialities is infused sea salts, infused with a variety of seasonings. The inspiration for his line of jerky came when he started using a Bhut Jolokia Inufsed Sea Salt. Today, his jerky brined with this particular blend, and produced into two flavors, the Filet of Ghost (a milder variety), and this Danse Macabre (a more hot variety).

Templeton makes the jerky himself and sells it at the Moscow Farmers Market as well as online.

Gran D Jerky - Honey BBQ (Revised Recipe)

gran d jerky
I had reviewed Gran D Jerky nearly a year ago, assigning a "Fair" rating for their Honey BBQ flavor due to a tough, hard chew, and lack of any honey or BBQ flavor.

The company has since revised its recipe and sent a new sample to me for re-review.

Gran D Jerky originally launched in January 2012, based in Caracas, Venezuela. To my understanding it's being sold in stores in Venezuela, and has sponsored a variety of sporting events around the country. The company is expanding its infrastructure to accommodate increasing demand.

Jim's Jarhead Jerky

jims jarhead jerky
Jim's Jarhead Jerky is the creation of Jim Ewen, a retired Marine, based out of Medford, NJ.

The brand started out in 2009 when Jim started shipping batches of homemade jerky to his son stationed in Iraq. His son shared it with others, and soon Jim found himself shipping out hundreds of pounds of jerky regularly to both Iraq and Afghanistan. After his son returned home, Jim continued the success by contracting with a manufacturer, and selling his famous jerky to stores.

Jim uses "real slices of steak", and was recently recognized by Philadelphia Business Journal among their "Top 25 Veteran Owned Businesses".
