Blue Ox Jerky - Smoked Buffalo

blue ox jerky
Next in the series on Blue Ox Jerky is this Smoked Buffalo Jerky. See my previous reviews of their Peppercorn Smoked Beef and their Cherry Maple Smoked Turkey.

Blue Ox Jerky Co is based out of Troy, MI, having launched in January of 2011. Legend has it that the company was started by Saul Bunyan, lesser known brother of the famous Paul Bunyan. Saul had accidentally set fire to Paul's bovine companion, Babe the Blue Ox, and opted to douse the fire with teriyaki sauce. And hence, a business was born selling jerky.

According to the company, this Smoked Buffalo Jerky is among the company's top three best sellers.

Final Frontier Jerky

final frontier jerky
Final Frontier Jerky, which is a black peppered beef jerky, is part of the family of jerky products sold by BeefJerky.com. I've reviewed other varieties from them under the "Settlers Jerky" brand (see reviews here).

BeefJerky.com, which is owned and operated by Gregory Nemitz, has been selling jerky online since 1995. Nemitz had been making jerky for family and friends several years before he launching his business. In addition to beef jerky, he also sells salmon jerky and trout jerky.

Final Frontier Jerky got its name because it was selected by NASA for consumption in outer space and aboard the International Space Station (see full story). I guess you could say it's the only jerky that's out of this world.
