Ed's Roadhouse Jerky - Sweet Onion & Garlic

eds roadhouse jerkyThe newest flavor from Ed's Roadhouse Jerky is this Sweet Onion and Garlic. See my reviews of Ed's other flavors at this link.

Described on the brand's website as "This has a great taste of Sweet Onion With a twist of Garlic!", it sounds much more tame on the tongue than Ed's other flavors which seem to focus on massive amounts of spicy heat.

Ed's Roadhouse Jerky is based in Wellington, FL. It was started by Ed Herman over 20 years ago with an emphasis on combining spicy heat with decadent sweet.

Stewart's Meat Market - Famous Beef Jerky

stewarts meat market beef jerkyStewart's Meat Market is a fixture at Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle, offering up batches of smoked beef jerky, buffalo jerky, and sausage.

The company began in 1929 by Emmett Stewart and was carried forward by his daughter Dorothy, whose recipes are still used by the company today. Stewart's Meat Market is now run by Dorothy's son and daughter-in-law.

Stewart's doesn't sell any of their products online. You have to visit one of their outlets, either the main store in Yelm, WA, the Pike Place Market in Seattle, or the Farmer's Market in Olympia, WA.

This particular "Famous Beef Jerky" is the company's original variety. They also do Red Pepper, Black Pepper, Maple, Alder Garlic, and Teriyaki.

Crazy Horse Beef Jerky - Original

crazy horse beef jerkyCrazy Horse Beef Jerky is a brand made by Dave Wenrich in Hellam, PA. He started making this jerky about nine months ago, based on a old family recipe that he got from his father.

Wenrich says he comes from a long line of farmers in Berks County, PA where they smoked their own meat. So using the family recipe he tried out some jerky and thought it was pretty good. And after receiving positive feedback from friends, he's been selling it directly through an eBay store and in some local shops around town.

Dave smokes all of his jerky from USDA certified bottom round in a homemade smoke house using maple, oak, and fruit woods.

Perky Jerky - Turkey

But not anymore. Now there's Turkey Perky Jerky, adding some "uumph" and "aargh" to your gobble gobble.

Just like with its mooo counterparts, Turkey Perky Jerky comes with no MSG, no nitrates, and no preservatives. It relies on Guarana as its energy-inducing ingredient.
